The moon is always beautiful to see in the night sky. Its soft, pure light is so different from the strength and brilliance of the sun. Yet its cooling presence makes the darkness less threatening and puts our fears at bay. For this reason it is sometimes hard to accept that the moon has no light of its own. It is a dark orb in space. Its light comes only from the reflection of the sun.
Knowing this, we are encouraged. Reflected light speaks to the glory of its origin. Paul wrote in his letter to the Corinthians that Christians mirror the glory of the Lord. This means that others see God in us when we reflect who He is in our words and in our actions.
The letter to the Galatian Church outlines the characteristics which exemplify the life of a Christ follower. It is, as Paul explains, the fruit of a life lived in harmony with the Spirit of God, the visible expression of the One to whom we belong.
We invite you to join us as nine different writers examine the Fruit of the Spirit and the impact of the reflection of God in our lives.
The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self- control. Against such things, there is no law.
