The promise to the Children of Israel of a messiah was passed down from generation to generation. At the birth of each male child, the question was asked, “Is this the One?” Today, the fulfillment of that prophesy is the basis of our celebration of Christmas - the story of the nativity, the angels, the shepherds, the star. But the message of Christmas goes beyond the manger and it is this:
There will be reconciliation. There will be resurrection.
There will be redemption.
In his letter to the church at Corinth, Paul speaks of what we could consider the Christmas trilogy. As we prepare for our observance of the birth of the Christ Child, let us remember the power of faith, the resilience of hope, and the message of love exemplified in the coming of the Messiah, God Incarnate.
Please join us this season as we revisit the birth of Jesus in The Trilogy of Christmas.
