Door Frame Scriptures: Being Armed

Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11

As we continue our series on “Door Frame Scriptures,” this week, we turn our focus to an essential element, application. Ephesians 6:11-18. Over the past eleven weeks, we have delved into scriptures that serve as guiding principles for our lives, much like inscriptions on our door frames. These passages have encouraged us to walk in light, rejoice always, serve the Lord, and more. Today, we explore the imperative of being strong in the Lord by putting on the full armor of God. This scripture isn’t just an inspiring idea; it’s a practical guide for facing the daily spiritual battles that challenge us.

Ephesians 6:11-18 advises, “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." This passage emphasizes the necessity of a full spiritual armor to withstand the trials and temptations we encounter. Each piece of this armor—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit—plays a crucial role in our daily defense against spiritual adversities. It’s not enough to simply read these scriptures; they must be actively integrated into our lives, guiding us and protecting us from the unseen forces that seek to undermine our faith.

Life’s challenges can often feel overwhelming. For someone dealing with the unexpected loss of a loved one, the grief can be all-consuming. For those struggling with addiction, each day can feel like a battle against a formidable foe. Parents with wayward children may experience a sense of helplessness as they face spiritual and emotional battles. During these times, the full armor of God becomes a vital resource. By revisiting previous “Door Frame Scriptures” such as “Trust in the Lord” or “Rejoice Evermore,” you can draw strength and perspective, equipping yourself to face these challenges with renewed vigor and hope.

As we continue to explore these transformative scriptures together, remember that the full armor of God is a daily necessity, not just a one-time practice. Each week's “Door Frame Scripture” adds to our spiritual toolkit, helping us build resilience and stay grounded in our faith. Keep following along with our series, and let each scripture continue to fortify your heart and mind. Embrace the full armor of God and remain vigilant, knowing that with each piece of armor in place, you are prepared to stand strong against any trial that comes your way.

Father God, for the women who are reading this blog, Lord, we ask that You pour out Your blessings upon each one of them. As they journey through their days, whether in moments of ease or in times of challenge, may Your truth and Your strength be ever-present in their lives.

Father, I pray that You inspire each woman to embrace and be uplifted by the full armor of God that You so graciously provide. In every circumstance, may she find solace in Your righteousness, guidance in Your Gospel, protection in Your salvation, and wisdom in Your Word. Help her to remember that her armor is not of her own making but is wholly crafted by You, Lord. It’s perfect.

Thank You, Lord, for being her source of strength and protection. Guide her through every moment, today and always, with Your unwavering grace and love. In Jesus’s Name. In Love.
