After Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of Eden, their personal relationship with God - walking in the garden in the cool of the evening - ended. God continued to be involved in the lives of man - speaking directly, through the words of prophets, through natural occurrences and miraculous deliveries. But John 1:14 explains that with Jesus, “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Jesus, Son of God, laid down His glory to become one of us and became a sacrifice for our redemption.
March 5th is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent when Christians throughout the world prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. While we do not formally observe Lent as a church, it is a good reminder to lay aside this time and focus on the life of Jesus and the people who came in contact with Him. Each in their own way responded to His message. Some walked with Him throughout His ministry, others were “chance encounters,” mentioned only once in scripture. They may have had personal barriers to belief and to service. But each, like us, had to decide how they would respond to His message.
Join us as we consider “Encounters With Jesus - The Road They Chose.”
