The power of the Psalms is overwhelming. One hundred fifty recitals of adoration, reflection, and contemplation. The subject matter is the magnificence of God, the insignificance of man, the menace of evil and the triumph of the Almighty. It is a compilation of joy created by the knowledge that God is in control and that He is the final Amen. The Psalms call on the frailty of the human spirit to be encouraged and uplifted by the evidence of God’ – in nature, in experience and in the song of the soul itself. “Who is man,” the psalmist asks, “that God is mindful of him?” And yet, over and over, He proves that He is.
Join us over the next 8 weeks as we step into the Selection of the Psalms. Devotions written by different women in the congregation will lead us through a varied study of these words of beauty, power and inspiration.
