Invitation to “The Path to Resurrection”

Updated: Feb 14, 2021

The path to resurrection began in a garden called Eden and culminated in a burial garden near Golgotha. Its purpose was to bring man to redemption, reestablishing the union God had intended. The violator would be defeated – the serpent’s head crushed.

Throughout the history of Israel, the promise was repeated. A Messiah would be born through the line of David. Yet, when the prophesy was fulfilled, it was more wonderful than could have been expected. Salvation came, not just for the Jews, but for all mankind. And not only a messiah, but Emmanuel, God in flesh.

For three years, Jesus walked the roads of Galilee, taught in the synagogue, performed miracles, healed the sick, and pointed the way to salvation. “God loved the world so much,” He told Nicodemus, “that He gave His only Son to save them.” The final days of Jesus ministry began with a triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem, the significance of which was not lost on followers and enemies alike. But what began with worship and praise transformed into treachery, agony and death, signaling the apparent end to the hope brought by Jesus. But God’s word was not to be denied and in the early morning of the third day, Jesus’ followers witnessed the awesome power of God and the fulfillment of His promise. Jesus lived, conqueror of death. And because He lived, man, too, was resurrected, no longer held by the repercussions of sin.

As we look toward the Easter season, we invite you to walk with us as we examine the Path to Resurrection. Six devotions will guide us as we witness the awesome power of God and the obedience of the Son. The series will culminate Easter weekend when we are reminded of the angel’s words. ”He is not here. He is risen!”
